I
am currently a Research Scientist at HRL
Laboratories (formerly Hughes Research Labs (Hughes
Aircraft)) in Malibu, CA. I have a diverse background,
with academic and professional experience in human-centered
system design, empirical user studies, cognitive psychology
and systems-level neuroscience, functional neuroimaging,
virtual- and augmented-reality multimodal interaction
systems, and the development of artificial cognitive
agents. I have a doctorate
and Masters in Cognitive
Psychology from UCLA,
as well as a B.S. in Psychobiology. My current work
focuses on employing cognitive psychology in artificial
intelligence, human-centered systems, and dynamic informatics--
that is, I am interested in how human operators can
more efficiently and effectively interact with machines
and how those interactions can change over time. I have
worked for corporate customers including General Motors,
Raytheon, and Boeing, and have worked under contract
for the Department of Defense (DARPA). More detailed
descriptions can be found in my resume
and my curriculum vitae, below.
